The JD-08 takes the design and sound of the JD-800 and houses it within this compact and portable sound module. From bottom to top, the module behaves and sounds like the original JD-800 thanks to advanced sound modelling, Roland has authentically replicated the classic sound. The JD-800 played a major part in the 90’s EDM scene, with many iconic tracks being produced using this synth. A sound designer’s dream; the JD-08 features all 108 original waveforms complete with the original 64 presets and an additional 21 new presets! The two-part, 65-step polyphonic sequencer features a motion recorder, a random pattern generator and enough memory to store up to 128 patterns. It also features an onboard arpeggiator to create melodic rhythms. Whilst staying true to the original, the JD-08 features a range of upgrades including expanded polyphony and an integrated USB-C audio/MIDI interface. The original JD-800’s unique two-stage multi-effects section has been meticulously recreated, as well as offering a four-part structure for advanced tone layering. The portable design can be powered via 4 x AA batteries or via USB-C for maximum flexibility.
