Boasting a classic-inspired sound, Patrick Carney has utilised over 24,000 dollars worth of rare, vintage instruments, recorded with one-of-a-kind microphones through classic hardware to deliver a sound that’s full of character and vibe. Ideal for a wide range of genres where a more rounded feel is required, the Patrick Carney EXP is suitable for rock, indie, blues, pop or even jazz styles and with both raw and processed samples (recorded through a ’60s EMT-style plate reverb), you can either mix from scratch or fit right into the mix. There are four kicks, four snares and 16 toms available in both the Trigger 2 and SSD versions with four hi-hats, 20 crashes and four rides being available in the SSD version only. Recorded with meticulous attention to detail, Patrick has chosen a selection from his ’61 Round Badge Gretsch to the edgy ’70s Ludwig Vistalite kits with an array of complementing cymbals to complete the kits.
