The Behringer Swing is a 32-key USB MIDI controller keyboard. It offers both arpeggiator and chord modes, alongside 64 step polyphonic sequencing capabilities. Use it to take control of virtual instruments in your DAW (through MIDI or USB) or a synth.
Keys, Modes & Controls
The bed of compact keys offers a good level of playability, yet remain small enough to ensure that the compact and portable design of the instrument isn't compromised. They features both after-touch and velocity-sensitive operation – letting you craft more interesting patterns.
Modulation and pitch touch-strips then provide more sonic seasoning for your sounds. Or, use the 64-step polyphonic sequencer to build entirely new patterns which you can then play over.
Two knobs change your sound even more. The scale knob can be used to swap between 8 contrasting time signatures, while the tempo knob/tap button delivers seamless alterations to your current tempo.
When it comes to modes, you'll have Chord Play mode and Arpeggiator mode. Chord Play gives you the ability to perform a chord (of up to 16 notes) with just one key. Arpeggiator mode on the other hand gives you the tool needed to craft queues of notes which sync to the clock of any devices you have connected. It's even possible to edit arpeggios and sequences, as well as record them on-the-fly!
Connectivity Options
Flexible connection options let you take advantage of other external gear you might have available to you. From hooking up a synth using MIDI, your DAW via USB, a Eurorack synth through the CV/Gate, or a simple footswitch from the sustain input, there's plenty here to experiment with.
App Compatibility
Download the Control Tribe App (compatible with Android and iOS) to use your SWING in a multitude of different ways. For example, you can utilise the app to set your footswitch to either sustain, hold, or both if you prefer.
