Gone are the days of using a mouse and lefty click + righty click to use your compressors, EQ’s and other effects, the controls will also automatically map to what you need! Say hello to a faster workflow and good morning to mixing as nature intended.

Pre Mapping:

One of the issues with virtual instruments and controllers is the mapping phase, it takes time and it breaks workflow, Nektar have pre-programmed not only all of Logic’s insert plugins but many 3rd party plugins such as Waves, UAD and FabFilter! Everyone has their workflow so these can be updated to fit your needs, but this is nice not to have to initially programme when there’s music fun time.

Motorized fader:

Physical controls are fantastic until you need to control something else or save a precious project, and suddenly, the real and virtual controls don’t match up. Faders were always the tricky customer as you can’t make them infinite, the CS12 uses a high-quality fader which will adjust to what you’re currently working on. Want to raise that tasty synth Arp from 0dB? Clicking that channel in Logic will physically move the fader to that position, no more jumping values.

Automation choices:

The fader also has another trick, when recording automation you can set it only to record when the fader is touched, or, have it record absolute values all the time. The knobs also contain another useful feature, fine control, a bonus of a mouse and Virtual control is the ability to be hyper accurate, using fine control will mean turning the knobs will be at 10x the resolution, really allowing you to nail whatever it is you’re up to.
