Description
The Teenage Engineering POM-170 Pocket Operator Modular is New Delivered to all areas of the UK using our roadie delivery service.
The Pocket Operator series goes modular! The Teenage Engineering POM-170 is a fully analogue monophonic synth with a built-in keyboard with individually tuneable keys and a built-in step sequencer. All this is packed into a small, home-build design that also features battery operation and a built-in speaker so you can play it anywhere!
Modular Design
The POM-170 utilises a flat-pack modular design that comes with everything you need to put it together yourself. It comes with discrete modules that house all the sound-making parts like the oscillator, low pass filter, envelope, VCA, etc. as well as the keyboard and sequencer and the built-in speaker. These modules are mounted to a powder-coated aluminium chassis for a sturdy feel that'll stand up to continued use. While it may be a build-at-home kit, it's still a serious piece of gear.
Sounds
In keeping with the Pocket Operator design philosophy, Teenage Engineering have packed a lot of sonic potential in this relatively small unit. With a square oscillator, 24db/oct low pass filter, envelope, LFO, and a VCA there's plenty of sound-shaping capability here. Add on to that the keyboard with individually tuneable keys and a programmable step sequencer and you get even more possibilities for how you want the POM-170 to sound and play. Once you get your hands on it you'll soon find that the POM-170 is no novelty, it's a full instrument capable of standing on its own.
