Description
The Roland n/vision brings the character of classic 1980s wavetable synthesis into a compact, modern Boutique instrument. Designed for immediate hands-on creativity, it combines a two-layer wavetable architecture with deep modulation, wave shaping and extensive effects for creating rich, evolving sounds. Each layer can be shaped independently, with oscillator modulation, wavetable position control, layer balance and wave shaping providing plenty of scope for dynamic timbres. Vintage-inspired filter models and an analogue-style filter add further tonal character, while the MFX engine, dedicated delay and hall/shimmer reverb provide extensive sound processing. Beyond its synthesis capabilities, n/vision features a two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer, arpeggiator, step LFO and motion recording for creating rhythmic movement and evolving patterns. Its compact design includes built-in speakers and a K 25m keyboard dock, while USB-C audio and MIDI, traditional MIDI connections and an external clock make it easy to integrate into modern and hardware-based setups. With battery or USB-C power, n/vision is equally suited to the studio, desktop, live performance or creating music on the move.Key Features Two-Layer Wavetable Synthesis – Blend two independent wavetable layers with extensive modulation and shaping controls to create evolving pads, leads, basses and complex digital textures. Advanced Sound Shaping – Explore wave shaping, vintage-inspired filters, analogue modelling, step LFOs and motion recording for detailed and expressive sound design. Portable Performance Platform – Create anywhere with built-in speakers, the included K 25m keyboard dock, battery power and USB-C audio and MIDI connectivity. Sounds That Morph and Move: n/vision takes inspiration from the pioneering wavetable synthesizers of the 1980s while providing a modern workflow designed for hands-on sound creation. Its two-layer architecture allows you to combine different wavetable sounds and shape them into rich, evolving textures. Oscillator modulation and wavetable position control can introduce continuous movement, while layer balance and stereo spread provide further control over the character and width of your sounds. This makes n/vision equally comfortable producing animated pads, powerful basses, expressive leads and unusual digital textures. The front panel provides immediate access to essential controls, while deeper menu-driven functions give experienced synthesists plenty of scope for detailed programming and experimentation. Deep Modulation and Sound Design: There is much more to n/vision than its wavetable architecture. Wave shaper processing introduces non-linear harmonic transformation, allowing you to push sounds beyond conventional wavetable synthesis. Multiple modulation sources can influence wavetable position, pitch, layer balance and shaping parameters, while step LFOs, envelope modulation and motion recording provide further ways to create movement. A drive-enabled analogue modelling filter and several vintage-inspired filter models add tonal character, from smooth and warm to more aggressive sounds. The MFX engine provides 17 effect types, complemented by dedicated delay and hall/shimmer reverb. Together, these tools provide an extensive sound design environment within the compact Roland Boutique format. Sequencing and Portable Creativity: n/vision is designed to be a complete creative instrument rather than simply a compact sound module. Its two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer supports up to eight notes per step and includes motion recording, making it possible to build evolving basslines, chords and melodic patterns. The integrated arpeggiator provides another way to generate rhythmic and melodic movement while playing. For portability, n/vision features built-in speakers, can run from four AA batteries or USB-C power, and includes the K 25m keyboard dock for standalone operation.
