    Roland LX705-DR

Roland have created some of the best digital pianos ever, and the LX700 is currently leading the line. Combining contemporary mechanics with classic sound and feel, LX700 pianos are the go-to choice for pianists after world class performance.

The LX705 offers exceptional sound, sleek looks and classic playability at a truly affordable price for an upright piano. As a highly-competitive package, the LX705 still offers the same tones and on-board ambient effects in the smallest format.

"Unlike typical digital pianos, which create their sound by sampling, the LX700’s PureAcoustic Modeling technology emulates the way that acoustic pianos produce sound, including the hammers striking the strings and the sound resonating through the piano’s body… The keyboard and pedals in the LX700 series respond faithfully to every nuance, so even highly accomplished pianists won’t need to adapt their playing or compromise expression." – Keyboard Magazine

    Sound

The LX700 is founded on the very basics – exquisite tone and elegant touch-sensitive keys. It packs the digital prowess of the SuperNATURAL modelling engine housing 307 different tones from two grand piano voicings – European and American – and a variety of strings and organs.

A built-in LED screen provides a clear settings overview, as well as the ability to select one of 10 temperaments and a range of ambient effects.

    Keys

The PHA-50 keyboard offers uncanny acoustic resemblance thanks to a clever hammer weighted action underneath the hybrid wood and mould keys. This balance provides optimal performance over years of use, as well as the familiar rigidity that feels effortless to play.

Their longer shape allows for smoother action as your fingers won’t tire as easily. This is the piano you need to make improvements to your technique. These keys also make less of a ‘thump’ than standard digital pianos, so you can play at later hours without making a noise.

    Speakers

Roland’s Acoustic Projection System offers power and immersion to fill a living room and more. Each two speakers are split into pairs and optimised for superior sound reproduction across the dynamic range.

Open the top lid to recreate an acoustic piano’s overtones. Intelligent speaker placement makes sure you get the most out of your playing technique. Whether you’re playing or streaming music via Bluetooth connectivity, you’re sure to hear pristine clarity.

It optimises play through headphones with 3D ambience – a much improved option than simply switching the sound from speakers to ears. You’ll hear extreme nuances in your playing.

    Connectivity

Improve your playing with the help of your phone or tablet. Make the most of apps and videos by connecting your device via USB or Bluetooth. Play along to songs on Spotify, or view sheet music which you can scroll through using the LX700’s pedal. Also included is a Twin piano mode for two-player practice and an essential metronome.

  • Roland Boutique TB03 Sound Module (TB303)

Roland Boutique TB03 Sound Module (TB303)

The Roland Boutique TB03 Sound Module (TB303) is New and delivered to all areas of the UK using our roadie delivery service.

The TB-03 Sound module is one of the second line of modules in the Roland Boutique series, that feature limited run compact modules that recreate the sound of iconic Roland hardware using Roland's advanced ACB (analogue Circuit Behaviour) technology. Roland Boutique units are being made in limited production runs, so order now before our stock runs out!

The First group of Roland Boutique modules focused on classic Roland keyboard synths from yesteryear. This time however, Roland have concentrated on other classic hardware models from their illustrous history, featuring drums, bass and voice effects.

    Back To Bass-ics

The TB-03 is of course based on Roland's TB-303 Bass Line module first released in 1982. Despite the fact that it was only in production for 2 years, the iconic sound of the TB-303 played a defining role in the development of modern Electronic dance music. This is the first time that the TB-303 has been made with it's original look and layout since the original short lived production run; albeit in a more compact size and with a few modern updates.

The TB-03 uses ACB to fully capture the authentic sound and character of the original. The new four-digit LED display allows for enhanced programming, while rotary dials give hands-on control over tuning, cutoff, resonance, envelop mod, decay, and accent. Saw and square waveforms are present, alongside new overdrive, delay, and reverb effects. In addition to the original’s Pitch and Time write modes, there’s an all-new Step mode and fine tempo control, and sequences can continue playing while switching modes. Ports for external gear include a dedicated trigger input to drive the internal sequencer, plus MIDI IN/OUT, USB, and CV/Gate for control over analog gear, modular synths and DAWs.

  • Roland JDXi – Analog / Digital Crossover Synth

Roland JDXi – Analog / Digital Crossover Synth

The Roland JDXi – Analog / Digital Crossover Synth is New and delivered to all areas of the UK using our roadie delivery service.

What happens if you Love the sound of Classic analogue, but appreciate that with modern innovations, the digital age does come with its perks! Roland have now combined the qualities of both in a hybrid synth that's powerful, compact and affordable.

    Analogue & Digital Combined

The JD-Xi combines a true analogue synth engine, Roland's famous SuperNATURAL synth sounds and a range of creative tools into one fantastic little unit that you can pop under your arm and take with you. The age old debate of whether you should choose old school analogue or cutting edge digital when you can have the best of both worlds. This is done by a unique crossover sound engine.

On the Analogue side you can create warm, smooth response with rich and authentic lead and bass tones using a newly developed monophonic analog synth section, featuring saw, triangle and square waveforms with pulse-width oscillator, filter and sub-oscillator for low end power.

In contrast the Digital side offers clarity and versatility of modern synth design with 2 digital synth sections. Featuring the full sound of 128-voice polyphony and a wide range of top quality SuperNATURAL synth tones including pads, strings, electric piano, sound effects and many others, you're pretty spoiled for choice. And even if you did run out of sounds, Roland's Axial Library gives you even more sounds to download as and when you need them.

It's not just about the Sound Engines

Although the tones you get from the JD-Xi are pretty cool, there's so much more that you can do with them, thanks to the wide range of functions available. There's 4 simultaneous effects sections to shape your individual tones. What may start as a simple triangle wave can be completely transformed when you have processing like bit crusher, slicer and ring modulation to choose from combined with Dedicated Delay and reverb sections for some serious ambiance!

Or Maybe you could plug in the included sturdy gooseneck mic and really go crazy with the Vocoder and autopitch. There's even a cool Auto-Note function that allows you to forget the keyboard and just sing the notes you want the synth to play.

You also get some features to help develop your ideas into full demos. Set off a pro drumkit or rhythm loop to help you get into the groove, and then build up your song using the Four-track pattern sequencer. With this you get 4 separate tracks (2 digital synth parts, analog synth, and drums) to create loops. Whatever you find is the easiest and quickest way to create beats, you can use realtime or step sequence or even the special TR-Rec mode to input your music. There's even some preset beats to help you get your creative juices flowing.

  • Roland Integra-7 SuperNATURAL Sound Module

    Roland Integra-7 SuperNATURAL Sound Module

The Roland Integra-7 SuperNATURAL Sound Module is New and delivered to all areas of the UK using our roadie delivery service.

The Roland Integra-7 Sound Module pulls together all of Roland's legendary SuperNATURAL sample synth sounds from both V-Drum and V-Piano ranges as well as a huge catalogue of legacy sounds in a 2U rack module with impressive I/O routing. This module is a no corners cut solution for working professionals that need the very best sounds as quickly as possible and at their fingertips in an instant. Song-writers, producers, arrangers etc will soon wonder how they got anything done without the Integra-7 providing super realistic SuperNATURAL sounds.

Roland's SuperNATURAL engine was designed with one thing in mind: to blur the line between virtual and reality, no other sample synthesis engine on the planet offers better hyper-realistic dynamic qualities with infinitesimal sample variations possible to the point your listeners will have no idea they aren't hearing an actual drum kit, horn or piano (etc etc)!

Here's what Roland say about the Integra-7 SuperNATURAL Sound Module:

With the development of SuperNATURAL sound and Behaviour Modelling technology, Roland has blurred the boundary between acoustic and electronic instruments. Built upon these core technologies, the new INTEGRA-7 sound module gives musicians a gold mine of the latest SuperNATURAL sounds in a fast-access, fully-stocked 16-part module. The powerhouse rack comprises a "greatest hits" collection of sounds from Roland's flagship keyboards and V-Drums modules, plus all 12 boards in the acclaimed SRX library. Then there's a new technology called Motional Surround, a 17-part ambience engine that lets you graphically control the distance and position of each part within a 360-degree sound field. With the immense power of the INTEGRA-7, you can create amazingly realistic and detailed orchestral arrangements, as well as immersive, spatial sounds, and beyond.

    Key Features

    • Motional Surround VSTi Editor for SONAR software

    SuperNATURAL-Powered Music Production

The core of the INTEGRA-7 is its SuperNATURAL sounds with Behaviour Modelling technology. SuperNATURAL not only mirrors the sounds of acoustic instruments, it also simulates the behaviour of instruments when they're played. With SuperNATURAL, sounds come to life under your fingers.

Whether used in acoustic or electronic domains, the INTEGRA-7 puts a world of expressive sound in your hands. Go deep inside the programming engine and customise your own sounds, or let the INTEGRA-7 do it all for you. With so many great sounds onboard, and with the INTEGRA-7's organic response to how you play your keyboard/controller, you'll experience a new level of realism and effortless expression.

    SuperNATURAL Acoustic Tones

Here are a few examples of the SuperNATURAL acoustic sounds onboard the INTEGRA-7, and their realistic behavioural actions:

    • Grand Piano: This gorgeous grand provides smooth, seamless tonal changes from soft to hard keystrokes, and natural decay with no "looping". The notes fade beautifully and organically. You can adjust a variety of parameters to customize the sound.
    • Electric Piano: Recreations of legendary EPs are onboard, including '68 Reed, '73 Stage, '78 Pure, '76 Tine, and '81 Tine. These expressive pianos feature realistic key-off noise and dedicated effects, including a newly created phaser.
    • Guitar: Reproduce chord fingerings, strumming, and melodic performances of steel-, nylon-, and 12-string guitars, as well as Flamenco guitars, ukulele, and mandolin. The INTEGRA-7 also contains several electric guitar models, including a single-coil Strat, and even amp simulators such as the Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus, stack amps, and more. Electric guitar techniques such as the "Jazz octave" phrase can also be performed easily.
    • Strings: Pitches transition naturally from note to note when playing tied legato-style melody lines. Effortlessly realize portamento, pizzicato, staccato, and tremolo techniques that are unique to instruments such as violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
    • Brass: The INTEGRA-7 faithfully reproduces the dynamic changes of tone colours unique to brass instruments – including the over-blowing technique of a saxophone, and the distinctive pitch-bend behaviour of a French horn. Perform staccato, fall, and growl techniques with stunning realism.
    • Ethnic Instruments: Instruments from around the globe are onboard, such as the Shakuhachi (Japan) with authentic pitch and tonal fluctuations caused by breath amount, Erhu (China) with the distinctive pitch bend when transitioning from note to note, Sitar (India) with realistic string resonance, and Kalimba (Africa) with unique vibrating noise of the board and tines. The built-in "ExSN1 (Expansion SuperNATURAL) Ethnic" sound pack can be loaded into a virtual slot for more sounds.

    SuperNATURAL Synthesizer

The INTEGRA-7's SuperNATURAL powers also reach beyond acoustic instruments. It's loaded with SuperNATURAL synth tones that meticulously recreate the fat sound of beloved vintage synthesizers, their expressive filters, and unique envelope behaviours. Hundreds of PCM waveforms are onboard as well, providing a treasure trove of classic digital-synth sounds prevalent in the '80s and '90s.

    SuperNATURAL Drums and SFX

In addition to the expressive acoustic tones and full-blown synth engine under the hood of the INTEGRA-7, you'll find a SuperNATURAL drum engine derived from Roland V-Drums. Thanks to Behavior Modeling Technology, the INTEGRA-7 can groove like a real drummer. Drum kits respond smoothly and naturally to velocity, with seamless tonal transitions from soft to loud. Play fast drum fills that don't sound like fake machine-gun fire, and create fluid snare, tom, and cymbal rolls with real-time control of their speed and volume via mod lever. The drum engine even has its own ambience effect, plus six COMP+EQ sets, which you can apply to the drum instruments individually.

The newly created SFX kits offer a variety of stunningly realistic sounds, such as car crash, door slam, footsteps, birds, river, and more. Great for film scoring, some of the effects offer real-time control. For example, using the mod lever, you can realistically control the sound of a virtual audience (the amount of clapping and cheering) or the sound of an ocean tide, rain, and wind.

    Essential Legacy Sounds Onboard

Roland has a long, celebrated history of creating top-selling synthesizers, and many musicians still rely heavily on their legacy gear. With the INTEGRA-7, a "greatest hits" collection of previous Roland synths is built in. All of the sounds from the XV-5080 are on board, plus all 12 titles from the SRX Expansion libraries, including SRX-05 Supreme Dance with essential electro sounds from vintage TR-808 and -909 drum machines, SRX-06 Complete Orchestra with a huge collection of orchestral instruments and dramatic sound-effects, and SRX-09 World Collection that's like an audio encyclopaedia of ethnic instruments including rare, hard to find samples. The INTEGRA-7 is equipped with four virtual expansion slots, which can be used to load four SRX libraries simultaneously. With all of these classic sounds instantly available, plus a new stockpile of enhanced SuperNATURAL sounds, the INTEGRA-7 brings the past, present, and future together in one convenient instrument!

Notes: Since the INTEGRA-7 uses the latest MFX engine, the onboard SRX expansion libraries will not sound identical to previous sound modules and synthesizers. The INTEGRA-7 cannot load data from the XV-5080.

    Motional Surround

The INTEGRA-7 introduces a new era of spatial sound design. Motional Surround – derived from Roland's proprietary RSS (Roland Sound Space) technology – lets you control not only the left/right panning of sounds, but also their depth, even placing them behind you! A solo instrument can be placed nearby, for example, while the backing or percussion instruments can be placed at a distance, thus creating a sound field with natural width and depth. Motional Surround is particularly stunning when applied to orchestral simulations.

This exciting new sound processing can also be applied to external audio; connect an audio player or instrument to the INTEGRA-7's inputs and immerse it in Motional Surround. Adjust the parameters in real time via MIDI, as well as with the VSTi plug-in editor for DAWs such as SONAR. You can even record Motional Surround movements in SONAR for automated playback. Motional Surround supports two-channel output, so you can experience the effect with just two speakers or headphones! 5.1-channel output is also supported for maximum impact with five speakers and a subwoofer.

    First-Class Hardware

The hardware design of the INTEGRA-7 is stylish and sturdy. Housed in a rugged metal chassis, it's beautifully designed and built to withstand decades of use, whether in a studio or a touring road rack. The INTEGRA-7's internal components are premium grade, including high-quality, low-noise D/A converters. It's also equipped with dedicated effects engines, so you don't have to worry about CPU load; each of the 16 parts can have their own MFX and EQ, rather than sharing the same effects for all parts.

Across the INTEGRA-7's front panel are dedicated buttons for accessing sounds and effects quickly, plus a large value dial surrounded by navigation keys. The LCD is easy to see, and you can adjust its contrast and brightness to suit the viewing angle and lighting conditions. On the rear panel is an array of versatile connectors, including stereo XLR outputs, eight individual 1/4-inch phone outs, a digital (coaxial) output, MIDI in/out/thru, and a USB port that supports audio streaming at rates up to 24-bit/96 kHz. For convenience and flexibility, input jacks are provided on both the rear and front panels.

    Cool Features and Add-Ons

The INTEGRA-7 is packed with innovative and powerful features, including a Tone Finder wizard that organizes the 5,000-plus onboard sounds into logical categories for quick location. Simply press the dedicated Tone Finder button and choose your category; once you find a sound, press the volume knob/button to preview it. The preview plays a suitable phrase for each sound, so you know what kind of articulation behavior it's able to produce.

Other noteworthy features included an ultra high-quality GM2 sound set (uses all four virtual slots) for playing SMF files via external sequencers, six additional SuperNATURAL sounds (uses one virtual slot each), a front-panel USB memory port (which lets you conveniently store your settings on a USB thumb drive)

Perfect partners for the INTEGRA-7 are Roland's new A-88 and A-49 MIDI controller keyboards. The SuperNATURAL button on the A-88/-49 automatically assigns the INTEGRA-7's most appropriate parameters to the mod lever, knobs, and D-BEAM for controlling the selected SuperNATURAL sound.

With its compact size, practical weight and speedy setup, this synth takes hectic schedules in its stride, letting you dart from a last-minute band rehearsal to a make-or-break gig, then across town for a recording session. If you play with several bands in a range of styles, you’ll know how frustrating it is when your synth can’t quickly deliver the required sound. With the JUNO-DS88, you’ve got a library of sounds for every twist and turn of the setlist. With so many bands out there competing for attention, a head-turning synth sound could help you stand out. The JUNO-DS88 is a winner right out of the box – thanks to the selection of instant-access sounds – but even for first-timers, it’s simple to dig into the highly adjustable parameters and find your own voice. Select the performance mode and you can set up advanced sounds like layering strings onto the acoustic piano, or assigning organ and bass to your right and left hands respectively. Create and edit patches. Respond to the crowd and shape your sound mid-song with hands-on controls. Hook up your favorite expression pedals and push the sonic envelope. It’s impossible to be average when you play the JUNO-DS88.

Enjoy instant jam sessions, no bandmates required

Even when your bandmates are out of town, there’s nothing to stop you nailing down the new material with a virtual jam session. Using the JUNO-DS88’s eight Phrase Pads, you can add instant drums to your keyboard parts, or copy audio data (MP3/WAV) to the USB memory and play along with lifelike full-band backing. Plus, when your shows need an added punch, the Phrase Pads can be used as a live sampler: load them up with anything from vocals to sound effects – then trigger them with one touch to make the gig go boom.

A synth that stays fresh, with free downloadable sounds

As an upcoming musician, your playing is bound to evolve, and it’s vital that your synth does the same. You might start with the JUNO-DS88’s onboard sounds, but you’ll soon go further, with this modern synth supporting internal waveform expansion via USB, and giving you access to the best sounds on the web. The versatile EXP-06 Studio Collection is preloaded in the wave expansion slot, but you’ll want to investigate Roland’s Axial website, where over 1000 EXP patches are available for free download. Inspire your performance with top-quality acoustic piano collections, world instruments, go-to studio standards, percussion and loops – or load in WAV files from your own sound library and play them from the keyboard. And the free JUNO-DS librarian software lets you manage all these sound patches using your computer.

The smart way to get your band playing better

The best way for any ambitious band to improve is to listen back to a performance and assess the strengths and weaknesses. While expensive recording gear is beyond most budgets, choose the JUNO-DS88 and you’ve already got a smart solution, all onboard and at no extra cost. With the built-in audio interface function, it’s easy to record your band via the mic input, then store the music on your computer, share with your bandmates and chase down the sections that need work. The JUNO-DS88 is not just a synth – it’s a mobile studio.

Stand out from the crowd with unique vocal effects

If you’re a solo performer or singer/songwriter, you’ll love the JUNO-DS61’s mic input, which lets you get great vocal sounds without having to carry around extra gear. There’s a dedicated vocal reverb, plus Auto Pitch for singing with the “stepped” electronic vocal effect popular in today’s music. The built-in vocoder is inspirational too, allowing you to sing into a mic and control the tone and pitch via sounds played on the keyboard.

The easy way to connect with a DAW and share your professional recordings

DAW recording has levelled the playing field for modern musicians, and the JUNO-DS88 has everything you need to make professional tracks on your favorite computer package – no extra gear required. The integrated USB interface provides a solid front end for a mobile or studio recording setup, letting you record MIDI and audio data, including sounds from the mic input. There’s even a dedicated DAW Control mode for controlling your music software from the JUNO-DS88’s front panel. It’s the fastest way to get your masterpiece finished and out there.

  • Roland FANTOM-7 synth

    Roland FANTOM-7 synth

The Roland FANTOM-7 synth is New and delivered to all areas of the UK using our roadie delivery service.

Here's what Roland says about the FANTOM-7:

FANTOM is a new kind of creative hub, made for rapid production and expressive performance. Inspiring onboard production tools and deep computer integration fuel an experience that feels intuitive, natural, and full of possibilities.

The expandable sound engine delivers our best electronic and acoustic sounds, with the depth and control to combine and shape them in exciting new ways. And it’s built from premium materials, with a purposeful design, and the best 61-, 76-, and 88-note keyboards we’ve ever made.

    Creation

At every turn, FANTOM fulfills the need to create. Its smooth, rapid workflow has no confusing modes, frustrating technical limits, or trade-offs with sound quality. FANTOM’s creative process reflects how today’s musicians work, with fluid composition tools, instantly recallable creative environments, and deep computer integration.

    No modes. Just seamless workflow.

When the creative juices are flowing, there should be no barriers. With FANTOM, you won’t compromise your sound or suffer workarounds due to outdated technical limits. And forget worrying about what features work in which mode. FANTOM is always in full-on creative mode and your workflow stays consistent, no matter what.

    Make a scene.

When you’re ready to create, so is FANTOM—and all it takes is a single touch. Your sounds, patterns, and performance layouts are arranged into custom creative spaces called Scenes. A Scene can be an entire song, section of a song, or a starting point with your favorite sounds laid out just how you like. Scenes can be chained together and changed instantly with no gaps or glitches.

    Everything. Always.

You shouldn’t have to wonder how many effects are available, or if you can change sounds seamlessly without limiting complex patches. With FANTOM, you can focus on playing music, not rationing processing power. And with so much power under the hood, you can run all 16 parts with all available effects—simultaneously—with full patch-remain for seamless transitions. It’s like having the power of two complete FANTOMs in one.

    Sound

FANTOM’s flexible and expandable sound engine leverages decades of research and development, dishing out inspiring and authentic electronic, acoustic, and hybrid sounds by the bucketload. Combine different synthesis and sampling technologies along with the onboard analog filter for new and unusual sounds—and take advantage of new sound expansions and capabilities as they arrive.

    One engine. Infinite possibilities.

Drawing from over four decades of genre-defining sounds, FANTOM’s expandable sound engine nails our classic synths but pushes into new sonic territory as well. Our custom Behavior Modeling Chips power FANTOM’s core, with smooth and precise control, loads of polyphony, and full patch remain. And FANTOM is part of an expandable platform, with new sounds and new possibilities coming.

    Authentic, evocative sounds.

FANTOM runs multiple synthesis technologies simultaneously, for authentic acoustic and electronic sounds, both modern and classic. You can also sample your own sounds and trigger up to 2 GBs worth of loops and one-shots from the pad matrix. There’s a fully routable analog filter for extra warmth and grit, and you can even mix soft synths with FANTOM’s internal sounds.

    The piano is key.

Considered by many as the king of instruments, piano sits at the heart of the creative process for composers across a range of musical genres. FANTOM uses our V-Piano technology for pianos that don’t just sound real, they feel real. Craft pianos that play and respond like their acoustic counterparts and match your personal taste.

    Sonic Superpowers.

FANTOM’s synth engine is based on partials. Each partial starts with a discrete synth voice–complete with oscillator, filter, amplifier, dual LFO and effects. You can have up to four partials in a single tone, and a Scene can contain up to 16 tones for complex layers, splits, and sequenced parts.

    LFOMG

Low-frequency oscillators add movement to static sounds. More LFOs mean more modulation possibilities and more ways to explore new ground. FANTOM has two LFOs per partial, four partials per tone—and since you can stack 16 tones, that’s a staggering 128 LFOs per voice. And FANTOM’s Step-LFOs have 16 steps of beat-synced automation with 35 curve choices per step. This creates long evolving passages, modular-style animated textures, and sounds with deeply intricate movement.

    Playability

After sound quality, what’s more important than playability? The way an instrument feels under your fingers, and how it helps you express yourself, is vital. FANTOM focuses on the experience of playing, from its immersive keyboard action to its arsenal of performance controls.

    Player's paradise.

FANTOMs have our best keyboards ever, including the acclaimed PHA-50 on the 88-note model and a brand new semi-weighted action on the 61- and 76-note models. Each feels solid, precise, and supremely playable, with the expressive capabilities of aftertouch. We make our own keyboards to exacting standards, each model an evolution of the previous generation.

    High-res, hands-on control.

FANTOM has plenty of knobs and sliders for intuitive and immediate control, with high-resolution for buttery-smooth sweeps and fine adjustments. There’s a dedicated synthesizer section with oscillator, filter, and envelope controls, along with numerous buttons and pads for triggering and sequencing.

    Go ahead. Express yourself.

There are many ways to play expressively on keyboards. Some players like levers, some like wheels, some prefer pedals, while others prefer aftertouch. With FANTOM, you can use any of them—or all of them. You can even connect USB controllers to any of FANTOM’s three USB ports for enhanced expression.

    Sequencing

FANTOM is a complete musical composition platform that excels at fast creation and fluid arrangement. You have RGB pads, a classic TR-REC style pattern sequencer, real-time recording with piano-roll editing, and a grid for recording and launching clips. Use any or all, whenever you want.

    From spark to fire.

Different musical genres need diverse production styles and specialized tools. You can create patterns on FANTOM in a variety of ways including real and step-time polyphonic sequencing, or the TR-REC pattern sequencer—perfect for rhythmic parts—as used on our iconic drum machines.

    Clip-based sequencing.

A great way to build up a track is by arranging clips that contain musical patterns. Drums, basslines, pads, and other patterns can be recorded into clips that you can trigger individually, or in groups. It’s a lightning-fast way to compose and ideal for triggering backing tracks during live performance.

    TR-REC Step-Sequencer.

The foundation of dance music is the step-sequencer, specifically the 16-step TR-REC variety found on our drum machines like the TR-808, TR-909 and modern TR-8S. FANTOM’s onboard TR-REC sequencer is fully modernized with sub-steps for ratcheted parts, motion control for per-step automation, and support for chords.

    Connectivity

While FANTOM is powerful by itself, its powers grow exponentially when connected to other gear like computers or analog synthesizers. FANTOM can control software synthesizers directly from the touchscreen, drive modular and analog synthesizers from its dual CV/Gate outputs, and is also a high-quality audio interface capable of 16 stereo outputs and 3 stereo inputs.

    Computer expert.

FANTOM doesn’t just work with computers—it fully integrates. It’s a high-quality 16×3 stereo audio interface and can control DAWs and plugins from its touchscreen. It can integrate soft synths into Scenes, and send parts composed on FANTOM directly to your DAW.

    Deep soft synth integration.

Customize your sound by integrating your plugin soft synths with FANTOM. Control Apple Logic, Garage Band, and Mainstage, and adjust soft synth parameters right from FANTOM’s touchscreen. Mix and layer soft synths with FANTOM’s internal sounds, and then route them through FANTOM’s analog filter section.

    Dual CV/Gate.

While FANTOM provides enormous creative potential, you may also want to integrate analog synths or drum machines with your setup. FANTOM has two sets of CV/Gate outputs so you can sync tempo or play them from FANTOM’s keyboard or its many pattern sequencers.

    Design

A clean and intuitive layout, premium materials, and our best-ever keyboard action. The result? An instrument that begs to be played.

    Everything in its place.

FANTOM is designed to propel the creative process and play beautifully. The placement of each control, and how it interacts with the creative heart inside FANTOM, has been thoroughly considered with today’s workflow in mind.

    Built to last.

FANTOM is made of tough metal with high-grade components throughout. Everything about it is sturdy and built to withstand the perils of live gigs and life on the road.

    It’s the little things.

The more you get to know FANTOM, the more you appreciate the thoughtful details that simplify your life as a keyboardist. From the slight curvature of the top-panel labels for rear connections, to the informative RGB-lit controls and buttons, FANTOM facilitates creativity and eliminates frustration.

    Updated & Expanded

Roland describe the Fantom as a platform that they are actively developing for, with many new features and sounds added over time. True to their word, the Roland Fantom firmware is now running on Version 1.60 which allows for 16 virtual expansion slots and the inclusion of some great new additions for users:

    Hi-Res SuperNatural Acoustic Sounds

    32-Band Vocoder

Plug in a microphone to take advantage of this powerful vocoder. With over 32-bands bands of adjustment, the Fantom’s vocoder offers huge performance potential for gigging and studio musicians looking to expand their sound.

    Share & Collaborate

Save and export your Fantom Scenes and Tones to share with other users around the world.

    Version 2.0

The Fantom now has its biggest update yet with version 2.0 which introduces huge sampling capabilities. Here are some of the highlights:

    Easy Sampling and Multisampling

In Fantom Version 2.0 it’s now possible to use create keyboard instruments from individual samples or create your own highly detailed multi-sampled instruments using multiple samples across specific key ranges. The sampling process is incredibly easy and straightforward too with an intuitive user interface, making it perfect for players wishing to re-create sounds from their favourite gear in a live environment.

You can now also apply any of Fantom’s 90+ high quality DSP effects to the inputs before sampling allowing for greater creative control.

    2GB Wave Memory

The Fantom has 2GB of Wave user memory, meaning there is plenty of space for storing extensive samples. What’s more is that the Fantom still retains its 40 second start up time even when loading huge sample libraries which offers great peace of mind in a live situation when quick change overs are needed.

    Sequencer microscope and automation

A new microscope view in the pattern sequencer gives you detailed control over your composition and now you can also draw parameter automation within the pattern piano roll editor too.

Convert SoundFont SF2 Multi-samples and use within the Fantom

Many pro keyboard players use the popular SoundFont SF2 sample format when creating their multi-samples for use in live performance. Roland has now released converter software to allow uses of this format to convert their existing SF2 multi-sample files into the Fantom .SVZ format. Simply drag your SF2 file into the converter and it will create the .SVZ file, and it will even retain the original sampled-key and loop point information.

This is a great time saving feature for many pro players and will easily allow them to use their existing SoundFont sample libraries as multi-samples within the Fantom. Users can download the SoundFont converter free of charge from the Roland Fantom web page.

    Firmware update V2.5 is here!

Only 18 months after releasing next-FANTOM in 2019, Roland have launched a new firmware update to V2.5. The greatest new addition is the seamless integration with Ableton Live, which enables you to work smoothly without pausing your creativity. FANTOM's touchscreen is a powerful Launch controller in Live's Session view, moreover, you can access mixer parameters and trigger transport functions. FANTOM's wealth of knobs, pads and sliders is the perfect match to actively control and modify your performance: manage your macros, drum racks and more!

FANTOM now also features a Virtual Tone Wheel Organ modelled on the famous Roland VK organ series. Its engine faithfully reproduces a real tonewheel organ and you can access several tonewheel types with adjustable percussion, key click, leakage and more. The built-in rotary effect has variable speed, brake control and tube distortion for a lush musical effect.

    Available now on Roland's website!

    Produce on-the-go

Make music absolutely anywhere thanks to the lithium-ion battery (providing around 4.5 hours of use per charge) and a seriously durable construction. The rugged casing and quality rubber pads will withstand even the most rigorous use while on the road.

    Flexible Connectivity

No matter how you like to work, a variety of I/O ensures that you're ready for any scenario. Using MIDI or USB-C, hook up the T-8 to external hardware instruments, apps, or DAW's and create beats your way. The T-8 is made to work seamlessly with its brethren in the AIRA family too; simply connect it to the E-4 Voice Tweaker or J-6 Chord Synthesizer and get experimenting!

    Classic Character

With the inclusion of the very same Analog Circuit Behaviour that's present in Roland's TB-3, TR-8S and other premium gear, experience the world-renowned Roland character at a fraction of the price.

Craft bone-rattling beats using the same great sounds from the TR-909, TR-808 and TR-606 drum machines, and compliment them with the booming bass tones of the TB-303 Bass Line. When put together, you've got yourself the perfect rhythmic partnership.

    Magnificent Seven

One bass track and six drum tracks – alongside a user-friendly interface – let you capture and edit your creations on-the-fly. With the beloved TR-REC drum sequencer and its 64 patterns (offering up to 32 steps each) to get your teeth into, there's some serious production potential at your fingertips here.

    Beat Variety

Add more intrigue to your beat making with the T-8's range of integrated effects. Apply sonic swirl with reverb or delay; coat your bass and drums in auditory grit using plenty of overdrive; or keep things under control with sidechain compression. The choice is yours.

If that's not enough, pattern shift, step loop and probability features provide you with even more complex beat-related possibilities.

    The Juno legacy continues!

Standing as one of the most iconic and beloved analogue synth series ever produced, Roland's JUNO series is an undisputed classic of the synth world and has had a huge impact on music of all kinds over the last four decades. The JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 played a huge role in the emergence of countless electronic styles and featured on an endless list of '80s pop hits!

The JUNO-X brings the best of the past together with Roland's latest tech, reimagining the vintage JUNO experience with greatly expanded tools and creative possibilities tailored for today's musician. The full capabilities of the native ZEN-Core engine merge with authentic recreations of JUNO synths and other legacy Roland instruments.

    Three is the magic number

JUNO-X gives you the sounds of the JUNO-60 and JUNO-106 in all their glory, plus a new JUNO-X engine to bring the classic sounds of the past into the present!

    JUNO-X

The new JUNO-X is a natural evolution of the historic JUNO voice, an enhanced version of Roland's famous Super Saw Waveform allows you to create even fatter sounds and the velocity sensitivity, pitch envelope control and more allow you to get even deeper into crafting your sound. The new Chorus III mode is a great addition to the two famous chorus modes from the original JUNOs!

    JUNO-60

In 1982, Roland presented their JUNO-60 synthesizer – a landmark instrument that had a massive impact on the music of the time and also the synth timeline moving forward. It succeeded the similar JUNO-6 and offered polyphonic synthesis with a stable digitally controlled oscillator at an affordable price point compared to other options on the market. The ability to save and store sounds in onboard memory – along with its rich character and rock-solid tuning – made this synth an instant hit.

    JUNO-106

Released in 1984, the JUNO-106 built on the success of its predecessor with even more memory and a revolutionary new MIDI interface. The sonic character of this synth was slightly smoother and cleaner than before and the JUNO-60's arpeggiator was replaced with a polyphonic portamento function. The JUNO-106 became one of the best-selling synths of all time, in part thanks to its improvements and its even more affordable price point.

    Go beyond JUNO

The JUNO-X doesn't just offer up a range of JUNO flavours, it also includes a host of sounds from the rest of Roland's legendary canon. Use Model Expansions and content from Roland Cloud to take the JUNO-X even further!

    XV-5080, RD-Piano, and Vocoder

With over 900 PCM-based presets from the XV-5080 – ranging across acoustic instruments and vintage synths to drums and more experimental sounds – the JUNO-X is capable of harnessing an endless array of sounds and tones. Access the spirit of Roland's famous RD stage piano series for a truly expressive acoustic piano experience. Plug in a mic and use the Vocoder Model with any JUNO-X sound to create futuristic pads or robotic voicings!

    Layer upon Layer

Previous vintage iterations of the JUNO synth series had modest sound capabilities using a single DCO (digitally controlled oscillator). Now with the JUNO-X you can go further and layer multiple JUNOs to explore uncharted analogue-flavoured goodness, from huge leads and basses to gorgeous pads. You can even stack Model Expansions with onboard sounds to build the synth tone of your dreams!

    The famous Juno chorus, advanced!

The stereo chorus featured in the classic JUNO synths was one of the most beloved features, adding instant depth and richness to any sound. JUNO-X provides both chorus modes from the original models, as well as a new third mode with even more width and swirl. You can even combine these chorus modes to create seven different effects for use with any JUNO-X tone!

Along with the JUNO choruses, JUNO-X also includes a variety of additional effects to colour your sounds. Independent MFX and EQ are available for different parts, alongside drive, delay, and reverb. Master EQ and compressor effects are also available, along with dedicated vocal effects for the mic input.
