The Korg Monotron Delay is Korg’s response to the overwhelming popularity of the original Monotron. Pocket-sized synthesis fun now comes with added Space echo style delay effects for analogue echo sounds that can be manipulated with an LFO.

The result is this awesome little palm-top instrument that gets even the biggest synth connoisseurs inspired and excited!

Here’s what Korg say about the Monotron Delay

Go Anywhere Analog: That was the theme behind the remarkable battery-powered and palm-sized analog synthesizer that Korg dubbed the monotron. Now the powerful and fun-to-play monotron is joined by two new siblings. The Dual Oscillator monotron DUO offers X-MOD capabilities for generating even more extreme sounds. The monotron DELAY features a Space Delay that can produce intense, analog-like echo effects. Each is played from a ribbon controller keyboard with newly added features. The monotron’s simple operation and ease of use (5 knobs and 1 switch) is alive and well, inviting hours of enjoyment and musical exploration.

Casual users and gadget mavens will quickly enjoy performing melodies, DJs can create dazzling effects on stage, while established players can add analog muscle to their performance – the possibilities are virtually unlimited. Grab yourself a monotron, monotron DUO, or monotron DELAY, and get in touch with the exciting world of analog synths.

Classic Analog Synth / Space Delay Combination

A good delay was an essential part of the classic analog synthesizer sound. More often than not, that delay came from a tape-style echo machine until affordable digital delays were created. The monotron DELAY is an analog synthesizer optimized for sound effects. In addition to its analog oscillator, filter, and LFO, it also provides a Space Delay that’s indispensible for swooping, cosmic sounds. The monotron DELAY even reproduces the pitch changes that occur when you vary the delay time, just as though you were using an analog tape echo. This fat and warm delay will add an authentic edge to your analog sounds!

Dual-Waveform LFO

The Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) waveform used to modulate the pitch now offers a choice of waveshapes – a new square wave plus the traditional triangle wave. Both the Rate (Speed) and the Intensity (Depth) can be adjusted independently. In addition, a trimpot on the back panel can continuously adjust the shape/direction of the triangle wave or the pul

About Korg

We have new and used Korg musical equipment available on our website for fast direct delivery from sellers across the UK & Europe.

Korg has been a leading name in synthesizers since the 1970s, establishing itself with the creation of classic analogue synthesizers like the MS-20 and ARP Odyssey. The MS-20, introduced in 1978, became a beloved instrument for its gritty, aggressive sound and semi-modular architecture, making it a favourite in genres from punk to techno. Korg’s recreation of the ARP Odyssey brought a legendary duophonic synthesizer from the 1970s back to life, preserving its unique sound while adding modern features. These early instruments set the stage for Korg’s reputation as a forward-thinking company with a deep respect for analogue synthesis.

In more recent years, Korg has continued to innovate with the Korg M1, which defined the sound of the late 80s and early 90s with its digital synthesis and built-in sequencer, and the Korg Volca Series, offering compact and affordable analogue and digital instruments that allow musicians to build portable modular setups. The Korg Minilogue and Monologue have also made waves, providing analogue sound with modern features like programmability and built-in effects. Across decades, Korg has balanced accessibility with innovation, creating instruments that cater to professionals and newcomers alike.

Analogue

An analogue synthesiser is a type of electronic instrument that generates sound through analogue circuitry, using voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), filters, and amplifiers to create and manipulate audio signals. Unlike digital synthesizers, which use binary code and samples to produce sounds, analogue synths rely on continuous electrical signals, resulting in a warm and rich tonal quality often associated with classic music production. The sound generation process typically involves shaping waveforms, such as sawtooth, square, or sine waves, which can be further modified using various modulation techniques, allowing musicians to create a diverse range of sounds and textures.

Analogue synthesizers often feature hands-on controls, such as knobs, sliders, and switches, providing a tactile and intuitive interface for sound design. This direct interaction allows musicians to manipulate parameters in real-time, fostering creativity and experimentation during live performances or studio sessions. Although they may require more effort to program compared to their digital counterparts, analogue synthesizers are cherished for their unique character, unpredictability, and the organic nature of their sound, making them a favourite among electronic musicians, composers, and sound designers seeking to capture the essence of classic synthesis in their work.
