The Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal is a foot pedal designed for use with keyboards, and other expression-compatible devices. The pedal provides a more dynamic and professional level of control to your performance, enabling real-time adjustments to be made with ease. Whether you play keyboard, synths, or even using the EV-5 with the Boss GT-100 amp effects processor, the level of control afforded by this simple little unit is extraordinary.

The EV-5 is equipped with a Minimum Volume knob on the side of the pedal. This knob sets the control value sent when the pedal is in the up (back) position, and therefore affects the overall control range of the pedal. The purpose of the knob is to allow you to set two different volume levels, so that you can quickly toggle between the two during a performance: One, the pedal-forward position (maximum volume), and two, the pedal-back position (minimum volume). If the Minimum Volume knob is set fully clockwise, there will be very little difference between the up and down pedal positions. To utilize the full range of the pedal, set the Minimum Volume knob fully counter-clockwise.

Versatile and Compact
As well as being useful for changing levels between songs during a set, or for being able to crank the volume for that all-important solo, the Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal delivers control with grace. Nuances in your music and playing style technique should be given the appreciation and clarity they deserve, which is where the EV-5 comes into its own. For example, players who use the Boss RT-20 Rotary Twin pedal, the EV-5 can be used to adjust the rotary speed in real-time, simply by adjust the pedal position, saving you from having to touch the RT-20 itself. Therefore, you could effectively save your settings on your equipment, place that towards the side of the stage, and keep the EV-5 out in front to affect any changes, saving precious stage space and minimising confusion during live performances.

The hard wearing unit is built with live performance in mind, which means that it can take just about anything you throw at it during a gig – no matter how enthusiastically you may play.
