Combined with features found on synths gone by, the A-88MKII offers many user-defined features that will speed up your studio workflow. These include advanced arpeggiator, chord memory, and multipurpose pads that can trigger commands and events. All of these features can then be made into presets, accessed and recalled via the A-88MKII control app for macOS and Windows. The keys offers ultimate expression, borrowed from Roland’s huge range of professional keyboards and digital pianos. These can then be separated, layered and edited in three, user-defined zones. This not only allows for ultimate control, but results in creations that weren’t previously possible to achieve in one controller. This can then be inputted and powered simultaneously via USB-C connectivity and is ready to go with MIDI 2.0.
