The Universal Audio UAD-2 Satellite USB OCTO Core is in stock and available from Synth for Sale now for £805 with delivery to all areas of the UK/Europe & USA. .

Get the rich analog sound of UAD plug-ins over USB 3 on Windows.

The UAD 2 Satellite USB Octo Core takes effects processing away from your computers processor and into the UAD 2 Satellite so you can run more effects and record more tracks at once with much lower latency. This device can then be used in conjunction with any of a wide range of UAD effects which then don’t take up any power away from your Mac and all of the effects processing can be handled by the UAD 2. Because the UAD 2 is taking away the processing from your computer you can record more tracks at lower latency without having to worry about your computer or interfacing falling over.

Over 90 Effects available for UAD

There are a load of great effects that can take advantage of the UAD system and its authentic analogue replication. With plugins available that model devices from DBX, Lexicon, SSL, Roland, Neve, ENGL and more this system delivers some of the best software emulation of analog hardware around even to the small nuances of the pots and faders you would find on each device.

The Power of The Octo

This version of the UAD2 Satellite Thunderbolt is the Octo model meaning that it has 8 processors inside ready to handle all of your effects processing needs. With enough to power to handle even the largest of studio sessions, although every session may not use all the power in this system you will be happy to have the power when you do reach those larger sessions with no slowdown and still near zero latency.

The Core Software

Each version of the UAD 2 Satellite Thunderbolt has a software package that comes with it. This particular version comes with the core software which contains the Analog Classics Plus Bundle with 8 high quality effects to get your started with UAD.

The effects in this bundle are:

  • RealVerb Pro
  • CS-1 Precision Channel
  • Teletronix LA-2A Classic Leveling Amplifier (Legacy)
  • Pultec Pro Equalizers (Legacy)
  • 1176SE/LN Classic Limiting Amplifiers (Legacy)
  • UA Precision Enhancer Hz
  • Fairchild 670 (Legacy)
  • UA610-B Tube Preamp and EQ

USB

Having a USB connection provides crucial benefits for modern musicians and producers, primarily related to connectivity and workflow. USB enables a direct link between the synthesizer and a computer, making it possible to transmit MIDI data seamlessly without relying on traditional 5-pin MIDI cables. This connection allows the synth to function as a MIDI controller, sending and receiving MIDI signals to and from a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). As a result, musicians can easily sequence and record their synth performances, automate parameters, or even use the synth to control virtual instruments within the DAW. This streamlined setup saves time and reduces the amount of cabling and interfaces required, creating a more efficient studio or performance environment.

In addition to MIDI capabilities, USB ports on synthesizers often support data transfer and software updates. This means users can back up and restore patches, download new firmware updates to add features or improvements and manage their sounds with dedicated software. For some portable or compact synths, USB connections also offer a convenient power source, allowing the synth to draw power directly from a computer or USB battery pack. This combination of data management, connectivity, and power makes USB-equipped synthesizers a versatile and practical choice for musicians seeking flexibility and ease of use in their setups.
