AKG are pro sound specialists. They have spent years making some incredible microphones and headphones for every level of musician. The new K72 headphones are part of a new range focused on project studios and working musicians they may not have all the money in the world to spend on cans but do not want to compromise on quality.

Pro Grade Drivers

This is the core of what makes a good headphone. The driver is the little speaker inside the headphone and defines what it sounds like. at 40mm it is certainly on the larger side for cans at this price range but that means better detail, better clarity and a more accurate representation of what you are listening to.

16Hz-20kHz Frequency Range

The frequency range is what frequencies can be produced by the headphgones and these have a surprisingly large range. From 16Hz which is extremely low, all the way up to 20kHz you will be able to hear every small element of your mix with incredible clarity. This again is thanks to those powerful 40mm drivers that can push a lot of air in a small space.

Closed Back Design

While open back headphones do have their place in the hi-fi and mixing world as they have incredible detail. But they leak noise terribly which is why a closed back design like this is so good for tracking, general listening and any work where you don’t want the world to hear what is going through your headphones. Privacy at its best.

No More Adjusting

We have all had that pair of headphones that just never sits right on your head. The band is either too large or two small and never finds that right place that just hugs your head properly. That is why AKG came up with this self adjusting headband that fits itselves to your head instantly. No more adjusting as you change cans between band members.

Here’s what AKG say about the K72 Headphones

Pro quality sound meets style and affordability with the AKG K72 over-ear, closed back headphones. Professional-grade 40mm drivers reveal even the subtlest nuances, so you can be confident your mix will translate accurately on any system. Whether you’re tracking the hook or mixing background harmonies, the self-adjusting headband and lightweight design will provide hours of comfort. Designed by the company whose mics and headphones have helped create some of the world’s most iconic recordings, the durable K72 headphones deliver great sound wherever your music takes you.

Studio

Any equipment destined for the studio is going to be a high-quality instrument designed specifically for use in a studio environment, focusing on in-depth sound design and versatile sound creation. These synthesisers are equipped with powerful sound engines and extensive modulation options, allowing for a wide variety of synthesis methods such as subtractive, FM, wavetable, and granular synthesis. Studio synths prioritise programmability, enabling sound designers and producers to craft unique sounds and textures for various projects, including music recordings, film scores, and game soundtracks.

Unlike portable or compact synths, studio synthesisers often feature a larger form factor, complete with full-sized keyboards, high-quality encoders, sliders, and detailed user interfaces with large displays. They are designed for seamless integration into studio setups, offering multiple inputs, outputs, and MIDI/USB connectivity, as well as DAW control features. Examples include the Nord Lead, Moog One, Korg Prologue, and Roland Jupiter-X, which provide rich features like multi-timbral layers, built-in effects, and advanced sequencing capabilities. Overall, a studio synth is an essential tool for serious producers seeking maximum control and flexibility in their sound design and music production process.
